Topic: Reliability & “Lean”: At Odds or In Sync?
Speaker: Cheryl Tulkoff
Reliability and Lean are frequently thought of as opposing forces. Reliability is perceived as driving added cost and complexity while lean is all about stripping down to fundamentals. However, nothing could be further from the truth! If considered early, designing, creating, and building with reliability in mind is fundamentally the ultimate lean process.
Most organizations go wrong simply because they consider product reliability needs too late. This drives overdesign or failure – definitely not lean characteristics! Organizations that understand and identify reliability requirements from the very beginning create products that fulfill their customer’s need at both the lowest cost and greatest quality.
Learn more about the methods and ways that organizations succeed when they purse reliability and lean in sync rather than at odds!
