February Tour – 02/21/17

Flextronics Web Site

Facility Tour:  Flextronics

For over 20 years, Flex’s facility in Austin, Texas, has provided new product introduction services for industry-leading customers. The Austin Product Innovation Center specializes in advanced engineering and supply chain support for the most complex technology, including both large and small form factor printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and systems. Using a “factory within a factory” approach, the Center’s team of dedicated, highly skilled experts in technical program management, process engineering, test engineering, and new materials acquisition is able to support the most demanding customer development projects.

The Center has completed renovations and upgrades to meet increasing customer needs for new technology deployment, advanced inspection, early functional testing, analytical equipment, process/test engineering lab instrumentation, and flexible systems assembly capabilities. The facility has also implemented a comprehensive security solution to meet the demand for high-security and high-confidentiality customer build requirements. An automated, flexible wall partition system that can be deployed within 15 minutes has also been installed. Build areas can be configured and armed separately, activating access via biometric control systems. The new solution provides enhanced control for highly sensitive intellectual property and new product builds, without the costs associated with a separate, fixed-structure facility.

The Center provides capabilities and expertise in computer numerical control (CNC) machining, anodizing, advanced automation, laser assembly, optics, and radio frequency (RF) technologies. Additionally, the Center provides aftermarket services, repair, and forward/reverse logistics with dedicated program management, operations, materials, and engineering resources.

Adil Dalal

Speaker:  Adil Dalal

Legacy:  A Strategic Plan for Your Life

Every human being has an immense latent potential and is genetically engineered for success. However, for the potential to be realized, one needs a definite goal or purpose. Sadly, today a vast majority of the world population lacks a definite purpose in life. A “legacy” provides the definite purpose to individuals and acts as a “north star” and a “lighthouse”, keeping us on a steady path through the ups and downs of life.

Leaving a legacy is not an afterthought or an accident. Leaving a legacy requires one to live a legacy driven life. Today as we experience global economic and social upheaval on an unprecedented scale, there is an immediate need for all corporate and national leaders to learn how to lead a legacy driven life themselves and encourage their teams to design and live their own personal legacies to ensure accelerated growth of individuals, corporations and nations.

Author Adil Dalal’s, “A Legacy Driven Life™: Live a Legacy to Leave a Legacy” book describes a why designing a legacy is a strategic planning approach for your life. This goal setting strategy is must for individuals and leaders seeking to leave their mark in this world.

Adil Dalal is the CEO of Pinnacle Process Solutions, Intl, LLC; an Innovation Management Leader at The Leadership Network; past-Chair of ASQ’s Human Development & Leadership division and past-Education and Certification Chair of Lean Enterprise Division of ASQ.  He has over 350 lean six sigma and leadership development programs globally across various industries.  Adil is also a distinguished global keynote speaker, an award-winning author and the recipient of “2014 Global Award for Outstanding contribution to Quality & Leadership”.  As an accomplished and reputed expert, he has been featured in numerous radio and TV interviews.

Adil has completed his coursework for PhD degree in Performance Psychology and holds 2 Master’s degrees and numerous certifications, including a Certified Project Manager (PMP), Certified Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Lean Bronze Professional (LBC) and Certified Executive Coach (BCC).
