May Event ASQ Austin-Getting Started with Big Data – A Lean Six Sigma Practitioner’s Guide -5/9/18

Kristine Bradley, Principal with Firefly Consulting, Austin

Come learn about the newest trends in data analytics

Big data is everywhere, and it’s not just for analytical leaders like Google, Amazon, and Facebook, anymore. From science to sports, from manufacturing to healthcare, companies in all industries are joining the big data revolution. CNN recently stated that “the amount of data captured globally is estimated to reach 40 zettabytes by 2020.” That’s 1 trillion gigabytes!

As Lean Six Sigma practitioners, how does this impact us? What tools today, do we already commonly use that allow us to understand large data sets? Are there newer, less commonly used tools that we can use to take advantage of these new opportunities?

In this presentation, we will provide an introduction to big data, and also introduce some tools that you and your team can use to drive results and take your process improvement and design projects to the next level.
